What We Believe
1. The Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures were written by men divinely inspired, and the New Testament is the sufficient and perfect rule of faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:21, John 14:15, 24).
2. There is one God, and only one, who is self-existent, eternal and infinite in every excellence, and who has revealed himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Isa. 45:21-22, Deut. 6:4, John 1:1-3, Romans 9:5, 1 Tim. 3:16, Rev. 1:8, John 14:26, 1 Cor. 12:4-11, Matt. 28:19).
3. Man (male and female) was created a free being with the ability to choose good or evil. By choosing evil he arrayed himself against God and became subject to spiritual death (Gen. 2:16-17, Ps. 53:3, Rom. 6:23).
4. Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of Man, came into the world to save men from the guilt and condemnation of sin, offering His blood as an atonement, and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him (Matt. 26:28, John 1:14, 29, Luke 1:26-35, Acts 4:12, Rom. 3:20-26, John 3:14-16).
5. The ordinances of the Gospel are baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is the immersion in the water of a believer in Christ, "In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit," and symbolizes the fact of regeneration. The Lord's Supper is a commemoration of His death and symbolizes the fact that the believer is continuously fed and nourished by Christ (Matt. 3:6, 16, 28:19, Mark 1:5, 10, John 3:23, Acts 8:36-38, Rom. 6:4, Col. 2:12, 1 Cor. 11:23-26).
6. We observe the first day of the week as the Lord's Day (John 20:19, Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 16:2).
